Macrame wall hanging loosely titled "The Mess"!
---- DETAILS/CREATION ----
Macrame wall hanging filled to the brim with lush textures, chunky rope, recycled sari silk and bits of colour!
This piece was made entirely from scrap rope or leftover spools, and recycled bits of silk! There are tons of hidden details wrapped behind all of the outer layers.
Even the driftwood branch has a story to tell - gnawed out in the middle by a beaver, this is an absolute one of a kind tapestry.
This piece has all of the characteristics of a macraweave, but there is no weaving involved - it's entirely macrame!
---- DRIFTWOOD ----
All driftwood is naturally foraged from the oceans of the Atlantic Ocean by myself. It's one of my favourite parts of this small business process! Each piece is cleaned, trimmed, or sanded where necessary, but largely left in its organic/natural state.
This particular piece was found on the shores of the Bay of Fundy - home to the highest rising tides in the world!
---- MEASUREMENTS ----
- 32 inches long from top of driftwood to longest point
- Approximately 20 inches wide (including the driftwood).
Each macrame hanging is designed and hand knotted by Mikaela in Nova Scotia, Canada. Follow along on instagram (@stringtheoriesca) for behind-the-scenes photos, sneak peeks of upcoming releases, and giveaways!
